When I'm not working with clients on marketing projects, you'll usually find me walking with Lyra, swimming in the river... or quietly drawing with a pen in my hand.
After more than ten years painting wildlife, I recently discovered a new love of pen and ink. These drawings are inspired by wildlife, nature and the small details that often go unnoticed.
Art has been part of my life for many years.
For over ten years I painted in acrylics, creating detailed wildlife and nature-inspired pieces. Earlier this year, increasing problems with my hands meant I could no longer manage the fine brushwork my paintings demanded.
Rather than stop creating, I discovered a completely new medium that challenged and inspired me in different ways.
Working in ink has encouraged me to slow down and notice the tiny details that often go unnoticed.
I love building tone, texture and depth through thousands of tiny marks, taking time to capture the character of wildlife and the beauty of the natural world.
Every drawing is created entirely by hand, building tone and texture through thousands of tiny marks. Each piece takes many hours to complete, but that's part of the enjoyment.
Although my medium has changed, the inspiration remains the same: nature, wildlife and the quiet details that often go unnoticed.
My drawings are currently on display at Dolce Amore in Downham Market.
